This time it's a tale of a huge storm and a ship
stranded high on a mountain by a giant wave. Welcome
to Typhoon Lagoon! It's a 56 acre tropical tanning
zone that's blessed with a big 4 foot surf wave that
runs the entire length of the 2.5 acre lagoon every
few minutes. When 'Miss Tilly' blows her stack its
time to either ride it like a pro or bob like a cork!
Snorkel Shark Reef for some added thrills - relax,
they're the harmless variety. Landlubbers can watch
the action through the portholes of an old shipwreck.
More daring souls have to try the Humunga Kowabunga
- it's guaranteed to make your speedos disappear
and is consequently a popular gathering place for
amused onlookers! Castaway Creek involves no thrills
whatsoever, just a few gentle ripples as you zip
around the park at 2mph, while Ketchakiddee Creek
is where little people under 4 feet tall hang out
and enjoy their own pint sized pools and slides.
Take your pick - Gang Plank Falls, Keelhaul Falls,
Mayday Falls - all very creative ways to get the
whole gang from top to bottom in as many different
ways, at as many different angles and with the maximum
amount of splashes as humanly possible.
